With two classes to complete before grad. My recent experience with this university is applauding.

In my next to final course at this university. I was accused of plagiarism, placed on dishonesty list and was told I would have to take the course over. First, the so called plagiarism was actually jargon and common knowledge, yet the instructor using a tool known as way-point. What was so surprising was the familiarization finding was less than 5%.

But I was told by my adviser the instructor stated I have not cited someone'd else work. Secondly, the information was consisted with university's jargon and common knowledge policy in the area of study. After submitting rebuttals and adamantly insisting the data was jargon and common knowledge, I was deny this consideration. The student committee insisted I completed some worthless programs.

I was even put in a program for proper citation - what a waste. I complied to keep my record of cooperation intact. I argued because information found on the internet (where the so called plagiarism) must be a scholarly source and any thieve must be of intrinsic value. Needless to say I lost that battle.

After completing all their requirements to remove my holds, I recently received an email stating I would be drop from the program if I was not enrolled back in the school by 08/31/2015. Now mind you, I have completed several course attendance delay requests which were approved. Never received any information on the status of my holds or schedule to continue my studies. Now I am being told I will be dismissed if do not start again by 08/31/2015.

This university asking for law suits. Its grad rate is very, very low and many of the instructors are not in tune to common knowledge or jargon in their area of instruction.

Anyone attending this university should be aware they do employ non-graduating tactic to steal your money. I for one is seeking legal advice as I write this post.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Ashford University Cons: University does really prepare you for a skill.

Location: Ocala, Florida

I too am in my 2nd to last class to graduate at this school. I am a straight A student with a 4.0 GPA.

I just started a new class, submitted my first assignment and was immediately notified that I am being accused of plagiarism. I almost fell out of my chair and the same thing happened to someone else I know attending this school. She graduated and everything while completing her last course, then she was failed for the course twice for the same reason, plagiarism and is about to take it for the 3rd time.

This is ridiculous, this is their way of trying to get as much out of the students as they can.

Anonymous: I have taken the class twice so far. With grade ratings of 98.6% in both course.

I too like you, I am a A student. I was so very surprised both times, as the instructor failed my final projects (final week paper). What surprised me the most was my final papers rating were found to have 5% chance of my work being plagiarism. I argued the data referenced was common knowledge and jargon, I know I was not treated fairly.

If anything point deduction would have been in order, However each time my final papers were give a zero grade, which in turn made me failed the course. Getting these people to admit a wrong is out of the question.

Now they are asking me to pay $2700 (out of my on pocket)to take the course a third time and has threaten me with collection threats. Therefore I have decided legal action is the direction I must follow.

What legal actions did you take? I am going through the same thing but they went back to a class from 2012. I'm like are you serious and I have only 4 classes to go!
